6 Worst Live-Action Movies Based On Anime

When it comes to Live Actions, Japan has made many successful adaptations of anime/manga movies. However, some movies are worth watching an infinite number of times, whereas some just can’t be watched!

This is a list of the Worst Live-Action Anime adaptations – movies that you can watch or skip! Let’s check out the list of worst live actions and cry about why they are a disaster! Yamazaki Kento has starred in many successful adaptations, but he was part of the worst movies too. Yamazaki Kento’s acting was flawless, but the movie itself was bad.

The movie list is based on personal views with respect to the original work like anime and manga. The movies could have been better, but they were simply disappointing.

6. Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku

Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku

This is one of the best anime an Otaku can ever watch. You don’t even need to be an Otaku to watch it. However, this live-action movie was a disappointment. Yamazaki Kento perfectly plays the role of his anime counterparts. Costume, style, designs, and everything else were good.

But the only factor that killed the movie was the use of musicals. They wrecked the movie by making it a musical. After every few minutes, there’s a song.

It felt like the moviemakers took a bad example of an Indian Bollywood movie and decided to stuff songs to torment the audience. Not all musicals are bad, but Wotakoi Love is Hard for an Otaku didn’t need a musical to sell the movie.

Had they done the movie like other adaptations, it could have been an amazing experience for fans. Nevertheless, it was disappointing for most fans.

5. Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan

The Attack on the Titan movie was a huge disappointment. Late actor Miura Haruma did an amazing job to portray the role of Eren but the movie was not satisfactory enough after watching the anime.

Part 1 and Part 2 were released in 2015. The movie could have been better. The movie’s pacing was slow and lacked consistency. We have seen amazing live-action movies but sadly Attack on the Titan is one of the worst live-action anime adaptations.

This movie has so much potential but the movie didn’t make it. For a one-time watch, this is good, but you won’t be able to watch it again, of course, if you’re an AoT fan and Miura fan that’s a given exception.

4. Death Note (2017)

Death Note (2017)

We love Netflix and are thankful to the streaming giant for providing good anime and movie content but we sincerely wish Netflix not to touch Death Note Movie. Since It was a Trainwreck. The 2017 Death Note movie was a prime example of disaster. This movie was beyond bad.

This movie is an epic failure that shouldn’t be linked with the Death Note series. Let’s just forget that this movie even existed. If you can summon the courage to finish this movie hats off to you and we salute your determination. This movie is one of the worst live-action anime adaptations ever made. Netflix really broke our hearts.

3. Black Butler

Black Butler

Kuroshitsuji, 2014 live-action was another disappointment. The actors did a good job in portraying their roles but the story was a mess. They changed the storyline. Well in terms of acting the movie was good but in terms of storyline, they didn’t deliver it. The plot was messy.

The fans can get only disappointment with Black Butler. Wish there’s a new reboot live actions with the proper storyline. The actors did a good job so no hate on them please.

2. Dragon Ball Evolution

Dragon Ball Evolution

The 2009 movie was the king of disasters. Words aren’t enough to express heartbeat and disappointment. This movie will just make you cry. You can either watch it or drop it.

They could have made this movie in a better way, but everything in the movie was just bad and sad. Even powerful glue is not enough to fix a broken heart after watching this movie. Watch this movie at your own discretion.

1. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K

Psychic Kusuo, the live-action anime adaptation is number 1 on the list. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K live-action got released in 2017. This movie was beyond saving. The anime is such a pleasant and hilarious series to watch but the movie ruined the experience.

The actors did a good job, especially Yamazaki Kento as usual, however, the overall movie was bad after watching. The movie did a good job to introduce the main characters and overall setting, but the visuals, design, and overall movie lacked depth and everything was over-exaggerated.

The scenes were hard to watch and at times it feels unfamiliar. They changed certain aspects of the movie to fit the storyline, but that too didn’t leave a deep impression. As a Yamazaki Kento fan, people can give it a fair shot. But unfortunately even Yamazaki Kento was unable to save this movie.
